Guraidhoo Kandu, is definitely one of the most spectacular dive sites in the Maldives and such is the extensiveness of the site, it is often split into two and visited twice. Many say that the marine life at Guraidhoo Kandu is unrivalled: here you will spot squirrelfish, moray eels, eagle rays and grey reef sharks. Like many of the best dive sites in South Maldives, Guraidhoo Kandu displays a wide variety of colourful coral formations and interesting topography. Kuda Giri is one of the best wreck dive sites in the Maldives and is a good spot to see napoleon wrasse, feisty triggerfish and some batfish. The actual wreck is only small and has only been there for around 10 years, but that seems to have been long enough for some interesting and attractive corals to grow. Sightings of turtles and reef sharks are not uncommon here.

Maldives dive safaris provide an outlook into a slice of life unique to the Maldives. Holidays to the Maldives should invariably include a diving safari trip to experience the underwater life, which is so brilliantly exotic here, you will never see a busy interplay of stunning creatures anywhere else. Marine life in the Maldives holds a plethora of stunning creatures; angelfish, barracudas, clownfish, grey reef sharks, manta rays, trigger fish, whale sharks, zebra sharks just to name a few. Diving with whale sharks has fast become a popular Maldives holiday activity – just being near these imposing yet docile creatures in the water will get your heart racing! If you find yourself on holiday in the Maldives at the right time and place, you could even observe the natural tendencies and mannerisms of the elusive manta ray. In the right season, and with some luck, you may even catch a manta ray feeding frenzy, which can occur around certain areas where the plankton levels are especially high. Diving safari trips are a must on any holiday in Maldives and we would be glad to discuss all options regarding your dive safari cruise in the Maldives, don’t hesitate to contact us!

Since whale shark reproduction has not been studied for long and while significant progress has been made in studying the whale shark mother and father, little is known about the young of the whale shark, so it is almost impossible to estimate baby whale shark weight, although a baby whale shark was found in the Philippines in 2009 measuring only 15 inches, which was possibly the smallest whale shark on record. What is the outer covering of a whale shark? Liveaboard cruises show the outer skin of the whale shark is smooth to touch and can be around 3 inches thick. It is important never to touch a diving whale shark, as their skins are sensitive and touching could lead to infections.

The manta rays size and swimming speed are its greatest defense mechanisms since it doesn’t have a sting in its tail. The biggest manta ray threat, apart from human beings, is whale shark, and in the event that a manta ray is attacked by a shark and survives, it will then visit a cleaning station for the small fish to eat away any dead skin or other residue left by the shark.

When learning about Hanifaru Bay Malediven, the first thing to know is where is Hanifaru Bay. A quick look at a Hanifaru map will show you that Hanifaru Maldive is located in the Maldives, which are in the Indian Ocean, close to India. More specifically, Hanifaru Bay Maldives is located in the northern area of the Maldives and the best way to visit Maldives Hanifaru is by liveaboard Hanifaru Bay.
The Hanifaru Atoll is located quite a distance away from some of the more popular atolls in the Maldives, so diving Hanifaru can be difficult if you’re not staying in the hotels near Hanifaru Bay. While it is possible to stay at one of the luxurious Hanifaru resorts like Hanifaru Royal Island, or perhaps at one of the cheap hotels near Hanifaru Bay, by going on a Hanifaru liveaboard, you will cruise around the Hanifaru Bay Baa Atoll, visiting nearby dive sites and sleeping on the liveaboard Hanifaru. This way, you will be close to Hanifaru tauchen when you are ready to dive Hanifaru, and if you have to wait for the right conditions, you will be close to Hanifaru thila. On another note, there really are not that many resorts near Hanifaru Bay for you to choose from apart from the Hanifaru Maldives, so if you’re interested in spending time in a resorts near Hanifaru, you’d be better off choosing a resort somewhere else in the Maldives and making a two-centre holiday that would include a liveaboard to Hanifaru plus a few nights in a deluxe resort, allowing you to experience the two best parts of this amazing country.
